We had a wonderful stay at this hostel. The entire staff was exceptionally warm and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to relax and enjoy the common areas—always accompanied by pleasant background music. In our case, we spent our last two afternoons working on our laptops, and the Wi-Fi worked reliably. The kitchen is well-equipped, organized, and clean. It even includes a cookbook with traditional recipes that are easy to prepare—we tried two of them and absolutely loved the results. They also offer a self-service laundry and drying area, which is incredibly convenient. Our room was comfortable, clean, and spacious enough for the two of us. While there are signs reminding guests of quiet hours, unfortunately, not everyone respects them. Perhaps a bit more emphasis could be placed on this aspect, though we understand it can be difficult to enforce. Overall, every detail seems thoughtfully designed to make the stay easy and enjoyable for everyone. The reception staff speaks English, and there’s plenty of helpful information available about the city, nearby areas, activities, and restaurant recommendations. The staff is also happy to assist with any questions. If we return to Takayama in the future, we would not hesitate to stay here again. ありがとうございます

Among the 6 hotels and hostels we stayed at during our 9-day Central Japan trip, my family and I agree that the best accommodation so far was K's House! Checking in was quick and their front desk staff were very kind. They allowed us to leave our luggages until the check-in time while we sped off discovering Takayama. It's just a 5-min walk to Takayama Station and Nohi Bus Center. Our room and the ensuite T&B were very clean, very spacious and so comfortable. They have a cute elevator (from front desk to guest rooms) for travelers like us with big luggages. Their shared kitchen and living space were so great with everything you need! We saved a lot on meals since we were able to prepare our own food. Their rooftop is an added facility you should not miss to have a good view of the surrounding neighborhood. My teens loved this! Can't tell enough how much we loved K's House! Takayama is one place we really admired. And if we ever get the chance to visit again, we will definitely choose K's House again and again! Thank you very much for your accommodation. Your place is now part of our core memories!

We stayed for two nights at K's House Takayama Oasis and really enjoyed our time there! The rooms were clean and the shared bathroom well equipped, the common room really comfortable and we loved to spend the evening on one of their couches with a cup of tea from the shared kitchen. But what is really exceptional at K's House Takayama Oasis is the staff: I forgot my Kindle ebook reader and they send it to my next stay at Tokyo and even communicated with the staff there. I am so thankful for your help and for the time I spend in your house in Takayama!

With the exception of here I stayed in large hotels elsewhere in Japan. This was simpler, more of a hostel, and less facilities. However, the appeal of this place was its ambience, helpful staff, an attractive and comfy lounge where you were with other travellers, and a kitchen (which I used only for drinks and cold food, free tea/coffee). The room was traditional Japenese with tatami mats and futon, a novelty for me and which I liked, and good en suite shower room. Short walk from station and town centre. Good heating in room.

K house was a lovely cosy hostel but we booked the private double room so we got the best of both worlds - the room was just perfect for what we needed giving a traditional Japanese feel but with European beds and our own bathroom. The staff were very helpful and it’s in an easy accessible location. Just be mindful as with a lot of places in Japan there are stairs that you will need to take your luggage up to and then you can use the lift to your room. The shared kitchen area was lovely to sit in also. Great value for money.
